The combination of Omikron (multicash) and COPS (corima) creates a new provider for payments & treasury in the DACH region. The goal is an integrated end-to-end platform as a central building block for the CFO suite of tomorrow.
In a significant growth step for the software solutions multicash and corima, Omikron, a portfolio company of private equity investor FLEX Capital, has joined forces with COPS. Together, the two companies will offer businesses an end-to-end solution for core CFO processes from a single source. The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
Two complementary strengths, one shared goal
Omikron and COPS have been working together as product partners for several years and serve numerous joint customers. multicash specialises in payments and cash management, corima in corporate treasury, risk management, accounting and liquidity management. The two product worlds complement each other almost seamlessly and are built on a technologically related platform.
The aim of the combination is an integrated end-to-end platform for payments and treasury that will cover the core processes of the office of the CFO, from payments and liquidity management to risk management and accounting. To achieve this, Omikron and COPS are pooling decades of experience in payments and treasury as well as the expertise of around 150 employees at their locations in Cologne, Vienna, Wetzlar and Hamburg. More than 700 direct corporate customers already rely on the solutions of the two companies.
Going forward, the group will be led by Dr. Daniel Appelhoff as CEO together with the previous COPS managing directors Lukas Steiner, Martin Zavadil and Christopher Lapp. They remain on board and will actively shape the joint platform strategy.
Voices on the combination
“The market for software in the CFO office increasingly demands integrated solutions rather than individual building blocks,” says Peter Kautz, Partner at FLEX Capital. “We acquired Omikron in 2023 with the strategic goal of building a leading platform in this space. With COPS, we are now taking a decisive step closer to that goal: we are creating a broader and more integrated offering, strengthening our value proposition to our customers and taking an important step on our shared path towards becoming a leading provider of payments & treasury in Europe.”
“For companies, liquidity has long been a strategic steering metric, and that requires CFOs to have transparency from the individual payment transaction to the treasury decision,” says Dr. Daniel Appelhoff, CEO of Omikron. “In COPS, we have found a company that fits us both professionally and culturally. Together, we will gradually shape multicash and corima into one platform that reflects the growing interconnection of financial processes and gives our customers a strong technological foundation for the long term.”
“Payments and treasury belong together, and we see that every day in our conversations with customers,” says Lukas Steiner, Managing Director of COPS. “In Omikron, we have found a partner that brings exactly the strength in payments that complements our offering, and with whom we can build a joint platform for the long term.”
