Investment career path

During your studies or for orientation, you can gain experience with us as an intern. After your graduation, you will start at FLEX Capital as an Analyst. As part of the team, you will actively participate in tasks and projects under the guidance of investment or portfolio managers and directors. This way, you will quickly gain a comprehensive overview of the investment lifecycle and can decide on one of the paths before moving to the role of a manager. From day one, you will take on responsibility and grow with your tasks in exciting projects:

As an analyst in the investment team, you will conduct detailed market analysis, evaluate financial data, and research investment opportunities. You assist in identifying lucrative prospects, create intricate financial models, and draft reports for internal and external stakeholders. Your analytical skills are crucial for well-founded investment decisions.

As a Senior Analyst in the Investment Team, you lead challenging projects for evaluating investment opportunities. You are responsible for comprehensive financial analyses and present investment recommendations to the management. Your profound market knowledge and analytical skills significantly impact our investment strategies.

In the role of an Associate in the Investment Team, you structure and coordinate investments. You work closely with analysts to manage due diligence processes, support contract negotiations, and prepare investment documents. Your ability to navigate complex transactions significantly contributes to the success of our investments.

As a Senior Associate in the Investment Team, you play a key role in developing and implementing investment strategies. You lead internal teams, monitor investment progress, and cultivate relationships within your network. You guide portfolios beyond the deal and become a contact person for portfolio companies, thereby developing deep expertise in value creation.

As a (Senior) Investment Manager, you oversee critical projects and tasks and provide significant contributions to structuring and executing deals. You have built a strong network of contacts that support you and FLEX Capital in achieving our goals. You serve as a role model for all previous stages and have an impact on the entire team.

As an Investment Director, you steer the strategic direction of the entire investment team. You develop and implement investment strategies, ensure performance goals, and oversee portfolio management. You are a significant driver of long-term investment success and work closely with the management to identify and execute growth opportunities.

Value creation career path

As an Analyst, you work as a full-fledged member of our team from the start. You get to know portfolio management and take on specific tasks in value generation. You support project assignments at our portfolio companies and continue to develop professionally and personally. With a Bachelor’s degree, you have the opportunity to obtain a Master’s degree through the Educational Leave program.

As a Senior Analyst, you also take on the responsibility for a specific area of Value Creation and manage independent projects.

As an Associate, we provide you with an environment where you rapidly gain exposure to a wide range of functional areas. You assume responsibility for a specific area across multiple companies and develop deep expertise in Value Creation. You also conduct portfolio metrics analyses and guide interns in the process.

As a Senior Associate, you take full responsibility for selected portfolio topics and work closely with the rest of the Value Creation Team and the Investment Team. At the same time, you independently manage specific task complexes and delegate tasks to the team.

As a (Senior) Portfolio Manager, you drive critical projects and tasks within the portfolio. You have built a strong network of contacts that support you and FLEX Capital in achieving our goals. You serve as a role model for all previous stages and have an impact on the entire team.

As a Director Portfolio, you take full ownership of portfolio management and are essential for value creation within portfolio companies. With your strategic and operational expertise, you elevate the portfolio companies to the next level. You actively lead the portfolio team both in terms of expertise and discipline.

Finance & people career path

For those interested in a position within our Operations Team, there are opportunities to advance their careers and take on autonomous responsibilities in our People and Finance Teams. In addition to progressing through the career stages of Junior, Mid-Level, Senior, Head of, and Director, there’s also the option to gain experience through secondments in our portfolio companies or to assume leadership positions there (e.g., the CFO Track; 1-2 years at FLEX and then as CFO in the portfolio).

As a Junior within your role, you are a full-fledged member of the team from the start. We work with very small but highly experienced teams within the Fund or the Portfolio. You assist your team in operational tasks and (partial) projects. Gradually, you take on independent projects.

As a Manager within your role, you work autonomously on operational tasks and lead your own projects.

As a Manager within your role, you independently handle operational tasks and lead your own projects. Additionally, you take on majority responsibility for specific areas within your function (e.g., Talent Acquisition within the People function).

As the Head of the function, you are responsible for the entire function or a significant sub-area. This often includes budget and personnel responsibility, as well as working with executives within the Fund and the Portfolio.

As the Director of the function, you take full ownership of the function and are essential for value creation at FLEX and the portfolio companies. With your strategic and operational expertise, you elevate FLEX and the portfolio companies to the next level. You actively lead your team both in terms of expertise and discipline.
