Investment Career path

During your studies or for orientation, you can gain experience with us as an intern. After graduating from university, you will start at FLEX Capital as an analyst. As part of the team, you will be actively involved in tasks and projects by the investment or portfolio managers and directors. This way, you quickly get a holistic overview of the investment lifecycle and can decide on one of the paths before becoming a manager. From day one, you take on responsibility and grow with your tasks in exciting projects:

As an analyst in the investment team, you will conduct detailed market analysis, evaluate financial data and research investment opportunities. You will assist in identifying lucrative opportunities, build complex financial models and write reports for internal and external stakeholders. Your analytical skills are critical to making sound investment decisions.

As a Senior Analyst in the Investment Team, you will conduct challenging projects to evaluate investment opportunities. You will be responsible for comprehensive financial analysis and present investment recommendations to senior management. Your deep market knowledge and analytical skills significantly influence our investment strategies.

In the position of Associate in the Investment Team you structure and coordinate investments. You will work closely with analysts to manage due diligence processes, support contract negotiations, and prepare investment documents. Your ability to manage complex transactions contributes significantly to the success of our investments.

As a Senior Associate on the Investment Team, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of investment strategies. You will lead intern teams, monitor investment progress, and maintain relationships with your network. You will accompany portfolios beyond the deal and become the contact person for portfolio companies, developing in-depth expertise in value creation.

As a (Senior) Investment Manager, you will oversee critical projects and tasks and make important contributions to the structuring and execution of deals. You have built a strong network of contacts that will support you and FLEX Capital in achieving our goals. You act as a role model for all previous levels and have an impact on the entire team.

As an Investment Director, you will steer the strategic direction of the entire investment team. You develop and implement investment strategies, ensure performance targets are met and monitor portfolio management. You are a key driver of long-term investment success and work closely with the management team to identify and realize growth opportunities.

Value Creation Career path

As an analyst, you will work as a full member of our team from the very beginning. You will get to know the portfolio work and you will fully take over specific tasks in Value Generation. You support project assignments at our portfolio companies and develop yourself professionally and personally. With a bachelor’s degree, you have the chance to obtain a master’s degree via Educational Leave.

As a Senior Analyst, you also take on the responsibility for a specific area of Value Creation and manage independent projects.

As an Associate, we open up an environment in which you will quickly become familiar with a wide range of functional topics. You take responsibility for area across multiple companies and have in-depth expertise in value creation. You additionally perform analysis of portfolio metrics while guiding interns.

As a Senior Associate, you will take full responsibility for selected portfolio themes and work hand-in-hand with the rest of the Value Creation team and the Investment team. At the same time, you independently supervise certain task complexes and delegate tasks to the team.

As a (Senior) Portfolio Manager you drive critical projects & tasks within the portfolio. You have built a strong network of contacts that supports you and FLEX Capital in our goals. You act as a role model for all previous levels and have an impact on the entire team.

As Director Portfolio, you are fully responsible for portfolio management and are thus essentially responsible for creating value for the portfolio companies. You take the portfolio companies as such to the next level with your strategic and operational expertise. You actively lead the portfolio team both professionally and disciplinarily.

Finance & People Career path

Anyone interested in a position in our Operations team has the opportunity to advance their career in our People and Finance teams and take on independent areas of responsibility. In addition to progressing through the Junior, Mid-Level, Senior, Head of and Director career stages, there is also the opportunity to gain experience through secondments in our portfolio companies or to take on management positions in these (e.g. the CFO track; 1.-2 years at FLEX and then as CFO in the portfolio)

As a junior in your role, you are a fully-fledged member of the team from the outset. We work with very small, but very senior teams within the fund or portfolio. You will support your team with operational work and (sub-)projects. You will gradually take on projects independently.

As a Manager within your role, you work autonomously on operational tasks and lead your own projects.

As a Manager within your role, you work autonomously on operational tasks and lead your own projects. You will also take on majority responsibility for sub-areas of your function (e.g. Talent Acquisition within the People function).

As Head of the function, you are responsible for the entire function or a significant sub-area. This often includes budget and personnel responsibility as well as working with managers within the fund and the portfolio.

As Director of the function, you take over the function completely and are therefore essentially responsible for value creation at FLEX and the portfolio companies. With your strategic and operational expertise, you will take FLEX and the portfolio companies as such to the next level. You actively lead your team both professionally and disciplinary.
