Investment team career path

During your studies or for orientation purposes, you can gain experience with us as an intern. After your university degree, you will start at FLEX Capital as an analyst. As part of the team, you will be actively involved in tasks and projects by the investment or portfolio managers and directors. This gives you a quick, holistic overview of the investment lifecycle and you can decide on one of the two paths before taking the step as a manager. From day one you will take on responsibility and grow with your tasks in exciting projects:

Investment career path

Analyst

As an analyst, you will work as a full member of our team right from the start. You will get to know portfolio work and you will take on specific tasks in value generation. You support project assignments at our portfolio companies and develop yourself professionally and personally. With a bachelor's degree, you have the opportunity to obtain a master's degree via educational leave.

Senior Analyst

As a senior analyst, you will also assume responsibility for a specific business development areas and take on independent projects.

Associate

As an associate, we open up an environment for you in which you quickly get to know a wide range of functional topics. You assume responsibility for a portfolio company and have in-depth expertise in value creation. You also carry out analyzes of portfolio key figures and guide the interns.

Senior Associate

As a senior associate, you will assume full responsibility for selected portfolio topics and companies and will work with the portfolio managers as needed. At the same time, you are responsible for certain topics independently including the delegation of tasks to the team.

(Senior) Investment Manager

As a (Senior) Investment Manager you will oversee critical projects and tasks and make important contributions to the structuring and execution of deals. You have built up a strong network of contacts that supports you and FLEX Capital in our goals. You act as a role model for all previous levels and have an impact on the entire team.

Director Investment

As Director of Investment you take over the complete deal management and are therefore essentially responsible for the profit of the company. With your expertise, you take FLEX Capital to the next level. You actively lead a complete investment team from interns to associates, both professionally and disciplinary.

Portfolio management career path

(Senior) Portfolio Manager

As (Senior) Portfolio Manager you drive critical projects & tasks within the portfolio. You have built up a strong network of contacts that supports you and FLEX Capital in our goals. You act as a role model for all previous levels and have an impact on the entire team.

Director Portfolio

As Director Portfolio, you will take over the complete portfolio management and will therefore be essentially responsible for the added value of the portfolio companies. With your strategic and operational expertise, you take the portfolio companies as such to the next level. You actively lead the portfolio team both professionally and disciplinary.

Career paths in the operations team

If you are interested in a position in our operations team, you have the opportunity to advance your career in our people, finance, marketing and admin teams and to take on independent areas of responsibility. In addition to going through the junior, mid-level, senior, head of and director career levels, there is also the opportunity to gain experience through secondments in our portfolio companies or to take on these management positions (e.g. the CFO track; 1.-2 years at FLEX and thereafter as CFO in the portfolio)

Junior (Title)

As a junior within your function (people, finance, marketing or admin) you are a full member of the team right from the start. We work with very small but very senior teams within the fund or portfolio. You support your team in operational work and (sub)projects. You will gradually take on projects independently.

(Title) Manager

As a manager within your function (people, finance, marketing or admin), you work independently and manage your own projects.

Senior (Title)

As a manager within your function (people, finance, marketing or admin), you work independently and manage your own projects. You will also assume majority responsibility for parts of your function (e.g. talent acquisition within the people function).

Head

As the head of the function (people, finance, marketing or admin) you are responsible for the entire function or a significant part of it. This often includes budget and personnel responsibility as well as working with managers within the fund and in the portfolio.

Director

As Director of the function (People, Finance, Marketing or Admin) you take over the function completely and are therefore essentially responsible for the value creation at FLEX and the portfolio companies. With your strategic and operational expertise, you take FLEX and the portfolio companies as such to the next level. You actively lead your team both professionally and disciplinary.
